Women in Otolaryngology (WIO) is a section of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery dedicated to supporting women in the specialty through mentorship, leadership opportunities, and community building, while promoting equity and representation across the field.
WIO CHAIR, DR. ELISE GRAHAM
Dr. Elise Graham is a pediatric otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon at the IWK Health Centre and Associate Professor at Dalhousie University. She completed medical school and residency at Dalhousie, a fellowship at the University of Utah, and previously practiced at Western University. She holds board certification in Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine and has published extensively on ankyloglossia, breastfeeding, and gender equity in surgery. Her Triological thesis, awarded With Distinction in 2024, examined gender differences in domestic responsibilities of otolaryngologists. Dr. Graham chairs the Women in Otolaryngology Section of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology and is a mother of three young children.

Show off your WIO spirit with a custom scrub cap at this year’s CSO in Calgary!
WIO is thrilled to offer personalized scrub caps featuring our official patch design. Caps are $34.13 and can be picked up at the CSO 2026 meeting in Calgary. Each cap is handmade by Kunde Caps, a small, Halifax-based business known for high-quality, locally crafted scrub caps.
Your order will feature the official WIO patch (2 in × 1.5 in), and you can add your name for a personal touch. All caps will be assembled ahead of time and ready for pickup at CSO 2026 meeting in Calgary. Just fill out your details below and choose your preferred style! We will be in touch via email with instructions on when and where to pick up your scrub capwithin the conference centre!
