The 2nd Vice President-Elect of the CSOHNS is an audit position designed to provide the member with an additional year of valuable council experience before transitioning into the Vice President role.
The Treasurer oversees the financial health of the organization. The Treasurer also provides interim and annual financial updates to the Council and members, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The Secretary ensures the effective administration of the office and board by overseeing compliance with bylaws and governance policies, and facilitating communication among board members. This role is key to ensuring transparency, accountability, and the integrity of board operations.
The Regional Representatives of the CSOHNS acts as a liaison between the society and members in a specific geographic area. This role involves gathering feedback, addressing regional concerns, and promoting society initiatives within the region. The Representative ensures that local members’ needs and interests are represented at the national level.
The W.I.O chair leads efforts to address professional issues affecting women in the field across Canada. This role focuses on developing initiatives that support career development, promote visibility and leadership, and foster equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Chair also reports on committee activities and helps ensure the society continues to meet the evolving needs of women in otolaryngology.
The Residents Representative serves as the voice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residents within the society. This role involves advocating for resident interests, facilitating communication between residents and the council, and contributing to educational initiatives and professional development opportunities for residents across Canada.
The Undergraduate Medical Education Chair leads initiatives to enhance otolaryngology education in Canadian medical schools. This includes developing national curriculum standards, creating high-quality open-access e-learning tools, and supporting collaboration among medical educators to advance teaching practices and educational research in the specialty.
The Quality and Safety Chair leads initiatives aimed at improving patient care and clinical outcomes within the field of Otolaryngology. The role involves developing guidelines, promoting best practices, and supporting quality improvement and patient safety projects across the CSO-HNS.
