The 2nd Vice President-Elect of the CSOHNS is an audit position designed to provide the member with an additional year of valuable council experience before transitioning into the Vice President role.
Oversee the financial health of the organization. The Treasurer also provides interim and annual financial updates to the Council and members, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Responsible for curating and organizing the scientific content for the society’s annual meetings. This role involves supporting the president in selecting speakers, courses, reviewers, coordinating sessions, and ensuring the program aligns with the latest advancements in the field. The Chair plays a key part in delivering high-quality educational experiences for members.
The CPD Chair of the CSOHNS oversees the development and delivery of Continuing Professional Development programs, ensuring they meet the needs of members and align with current trends. This role involves reviewing and approving programs for accreditation and maintaining the organization’s status with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The CPD Chair plays a vital part in advancing members' skills, knowledge, and professional standing.
The Electronic Communications Chair of the CSOHNS is responsible for reviewing and approving scientific content, such as surveys and other materials, to be distributed digitally to the membership database. They ensure that all electronic communications align with the society’s goals and maintain the integrity of the information shared with members. This role plays a key part in facilitating effective digital engagement within the organization.
The General Otolaryngology Chair represents members practicing in general otolaryngology, overseeing initiatives related to the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat conditions. This role organizes educational programs, supports research, and advocates for the interests of general otolaryngologists within the society.
The Historian of the CSOHNS is responsible for preserving and documenting the society’s history, including key milestones, events, and achievements. This role involves maintaining archives and ensuring that the legacy of the society is accurately recorded for future generations. The Historian also contributes to celebrating the society's history through various initiatives.
The Physician Resources Chair develops and manages resources to support the professional growth and well-being of members. This includes providing tools and information on best practices, career development, and work-life balance.
The Regional Representatives of the CSOHNS acts as a liaison between the society and members in a specific geographic area. This role involves gathering feedback, addressing regional concerns, and promoting society initiatives within the region. The Representative ensures that local members’ needs and interests are represented at the national level.
